Microsoft Updates for Windows and Office Products
Always start by installing all Microsoft Updates. Remember to use the CUSTOM button to be sure to get all optional updates as well as the critical ones!
Adobe Reader
The Adobe Reader is required on all systems. So many documents come in PDF (Portable Data Format) that are either help files or forms. The State and Federal Governments use it for their forms. Once you have installed the reader then run it and check for updates to get the last download for easy operation.

Flash is on so many web sites - Install it and be ready!
